Hot Rocks  work instantly on contact giving off heat as they dissolve, providing a fast melting start that accelerates ice melting action in below zero weather.

The easy to apply calcium chloride ice melt pellets attract moisture and produces a brine as it melts, releasing heat in the process and reducing the freezing point of water to below -50°F (-45°C). Aside from its effectiveness as an ice-melter, calcium chloride stays on the surface to prevent refreezing

you need less HotRocks to effectively melt volumes of ice, relative to almost every alternative

*other advertised ice melts are cheaper inferior blended products and are much less effective, these blends may contain just a very small percentage of calcium chloride or non at all the rest being made of rock salt and other damaging chlorides, many of these other ice melt products msds sheets state only that they are blends and not the % of materials
